(photo by FIRE&RESCUE TEAM via @js100radio)Five people were injured when a car crashed into parked vehicles and a group of people watching a fire race through a row of shophouses in Bangkok's Thawi Watthana district late Sunday night. A speeding car heading towards Boromratchonnanee road veered off the road and into the vehicles, according to Thai media reports. The car hit a pickup truck belonging to rescue workers before crashing into a rescue van and seven motorcycles parked along the footpath. They were given first-aid by rescue workers and taken to hospital for a thorough examination. According to local authorities, the fire began about 11pm in one shophouse and spread quickly to seven others.
